The American ensemble “Chance” on tour with their production:

“John Muir – University of the Wilderness”

"I thought tonight was both enchanting and tantalising ……. if thats possible!  You captured the sentiment and essence of a great man and a period of history so exceptionally well. I was absorbed into every minute. Thanks to all for a great evening and I hope that you all enjoyed your Scottish debut ! Here’s to many more successes".  -Elizabeth Manley, Headmaster, Lumsden school, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

"I recently had the very good fortune to enjoy "The Chance Ensemble's" production "John Muir - University of the Wilderness" at the Universal Hall, Findhorn. This production wove spoken word readings from John Muir's work with sung word and beautifully crafted and  sympathetically rendered musical settings that, for me, really captured the emotional reflections and empathy that I have been lucky to experience during many ventures into the Scottish hills and mountains and I had a real sense of the gift of John Muir's legacy being brought back to us "full circle" by this ensemble from Wisconsin".

-Letter from Robert Lambie to the John Muir Trust(partner organization in the 2015 tour in Scotland), 4/29/15

“It’s a celebration of Muir that's inventive, pure magic, and both in and out of this world. It could be described as naturalist meets “Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the woods for an unusual musical romp together”. Hope McLeod – County Journal/Ashland Daily Press

The Chance Ensemble is: Cheryl Leah/vocals, Ed Willett/cello, Liesel Wilson/violin, and actor/percussionist Thomas Clyde Mitchell
